Jean Baptiste Aubert imagined La Plonplonière as the culmination of a professional reconversion guided by sense, the desire to pass on and a taste for hospitality. This B&B on the Côte d’Opale naturally blends the history of the place with today’s comforts and an assertive art of living, in the image of his career.
Here, nothing is standardized. Every choice tells a story, every detail contributes to the atmosphere, designed to make your stay a simple, unadorned experience.
An epicurean with a penchant for meeting new people, Jean Baptiste has turned this former barn into a sincere interlude, an ephemeral residence where people come to relax, share and leave with the impression of having experienced more than just a simple stay.
It all began with an inscription on a beam in the old barn adjoining the main house. 1770 VA was carved into the wood, a mysterious autograph that has stood the test of time and moved the owner.
Probably dating back three centuries, this testimony to a bygone past is the starting point for the La Plonplonière adventure.
Jean-Baptiste Aubert, sensitive to the messages of history and keen to pass them on, wanted to bring the barn back to life. He therefore undertook to renovate it and transform it into four modern, comfortable guest rooms.
Unusual and atypical, this resolutely upmarket accommodation is based on two desires dear to its designer.
The desire to share his passion for golf, a sport he practises assiduously and about which he loves to evoke anecdotes and famous shots.
The desire to help golfers and non-golfers alike discover the local heritage, as grandiose as it is unusual, as cultural as it is natural, and as aesthetically pleasing as it is inspiring.
At La Plonplonière, you don’t just come to sleep, you come to live. Oxygenation, relaxation, well-being and indulgence: we welcome you…home!
The bedrooms have been designed as obvious rest areas, where you’ll feel at ease from the very first moment. On the ground floor, volumes are generous, close to the spirit of the suite. Upstairs, the atmosphere is more enveloping and cocooning, ideal for a quiet retreat.
The decor, created with the Blanc d’Ivoire brand, favors natural materials and timeless elegance. The bedding offers remarkable comfort, inspired by the finest Parisian hotels, and every detail has been thought of to make your stay in our guest room in the Côte d’Opale a simple, fluid and restful moment.
